What a fun week last week! My cousin, Sakeena, and her friend, Caity, came for a visit. We didn't have very good weather, but we made the most of it! Tuesday, after the boys' naps, we walked the Greenway Trail in Maryville. Wednesday, we went to the American Museum of Science and Energy in Oak Ridge, then went to downtown Knoxville. We went up in the Sunsphere, and the girls and Colin played in the water fountain. So funny! Let see... Thursday, after speech, we drove up to Newfound Gap and Clingman's Dome in the Smokies. It wasn't clear and sunny, but it didn't rain on us and we weren't socked in! Then Friday, we walked around downtown Knoxville, again, walked through Mast General (a very cool store), and ate at Mellow Mushroom on UT's campus (GREAT pizza!). Saturday was the most fun, though. We hiked (Jedd, too, this time) to Grotto falls in the Smokies. The weather started off sunny, but then it drizzled on us on the way up to the falls. We got there, had our picnic lunch, and were gearing up when all of a sudden the sky turned black, like night, almost, and the thunder started rumbling! We hoofed it down the mountain in a blinding, pouring, thunderstorm! Jedd had E in the baby carrier where he was nice and dry (for the most part), humming, laughing, and pointing the majority of the way down. I had Colin, who was whimpering and shivering all the 1.6 miles down the mountain. Other than Colin being so miserable, it was fun! We were soaked down to the bone. What an experience, though! Unfortunately, though, Caity and Sakeena headed home after that :-( What a great week!
Now, I am busy, busy, busy cleaning up from having company for a week, washing sheets and towels, and picking up, cleaning, etc. And, I am getting ready for our next round of company! My brother and his family will be coming tomorrow and staying through Memorial Day weekend (except for this weekend when we will all be in Atlanta for our good friend, Doug's, wedding)! These next 2 weeks are going to be fun!

I'm a bit sad today. Three years ago today, I lost one of my dearest friends in a plane crash. It has been hard beyond belief. I miss him terribly.

On a happier note, I had a terrific time with my mom this weekend. We spent the weekend in Berea, KY. We shopped and then went hiking. We hiked to the top of a small mountain! What a view! It was so nice to spend time with her, and it was nice to be kid-less for the longest time since we had kids! I missed them lots, but it was WONDERFUL to actually wake up slow and just worry about getting myself ready and to pay attention in church! :-)
Jedd did an excellent job, too. I came home to a mowed yard and a clean living room and kitchen. What a hubby!!!!!!!!

T-minus 1 day until my week of kid-less freedom! I am super-duper excited about this weekend! I am going to have the whole weekend with my mom in Berea, KY. It is a little artist colony town with lots of artisan shops. I am mostly excited to have a few days without being responsible for anyone by myself. This will be my first night away from Evan and my third away from Colin (the first 2 were when I was at the hospital having Evan). I can't wait!
The last couple of weeks have been good for the most part. Colin has been doing great in speech class. He got a new letter to work on, "drumming D". He is doing really good on that one already! I also got to go to a Mom's club meeting at church this week. It was REALLY nice. I am ready to make some more friends here, and that was a great start.
We had a nice Easter weekend. Jedd was off good Friday, and we spend most of Friday and Saturday getting ready for company on Sunday. Jedd sang at Good Friday mass, so I had the boys by myself. Let me just tell you, 7pm is NOT a good time for the boys to have to sit through mass! Evan wanted nothing more than to run (not a good thing at a very somber mass). Not to mention that 8 is their bedtime, so they were both very tired. I ended up leaving at 7:45 and they hadn't even taken up the collection yet. Jedd didn't get home until after 9... Easter mass was much better, though they did put me through a workout, at least I didn't have to leave!!!!
The Barder's came over for Easter lunch. That was so great. It was nice to have company when we were all missing being with our families.
This week has been very cyclical. Bad day, then good day, then bad day... We are on track to have a good day today! I think the kids and I are all just tired of being inside this week. It has been chilly and wet so far. We are off to the park this morning with Kim and Burke, and then speech, so HOPEFULLY it will be a good day. Wish me luck! :-)

Oh, what a week! Jedd was in St. Louis all week for work...Boo. I hate it when he goes. Hopefully this will be it for a while. Mom and Dad came on Tuesday to stay until Friday, just to help me out. What great parents they are. We had a BLAST while they were here. On Wednesday, we spent the day in Knoxville. We went to Mast General (such a cool store), had a picnic at Market Square, went up in the sunsphere, and played at Fort Kid. We all had such a great time. It was nice too, because it was all things I had not done before, places I hadn't been before, so they were new to me, too!
Jedd came back yesterday (YEA!) and today we just had a kind of lazy day. We beat our Mario game, and joint mowed (I trimmed and Jedd rode the rider). Now we are off to eat at our favorite Mexican place. YUM! Nachos, here I come!!!

Today has been a pretty good day. The kids and I went to Walmart to pick up Evan's new birthday present. Yes, it is 2 weeks late, but we didn't get it ordered in time. It is a blow up play area with a load of balls. We are planning on setting it up tonight so the kids can play first thing in the morning. I can't wait to see their faces! Since it was a rainy, dreary day, we also went to the mall so the kids could run around. Both kids were pretty whiny today, though, so I was VERY ready for Jedd to get home from work!
Then for dinner we went to church for a fish fry with some friends. It was really nice to have someone cook and clean up after you, and all the kids got to run around. I actually got to have some adult time. It was great!

My first blog

Hi! This is my first ever post on a blog. I think it is time :-)

The Krintz family is doing well these days. We are finally moved into our new house and feeling a routine again. It is SO nice after not having much of a routine for the last year with a new baby and then moving into the apartment and then moving into our house. I am so happy to be settled. Jedd and I have been practicing guitar a lot lately. It has been so fun! My goal is to eventually be able to play with my group at church. Maybe next year! Colin is growing up so fast. He has started speech classes at the local elementary school and loves it. He is so excited that he has homework. Evan is also growing fast! He just turned one 2 weeks ago. He loves to swing and play outside. He is getting a new tooth in, so a little crabby lately, but that will pass soon!

Well, thanks for reading my first official post! Hopefully we will see you again soon
:-)
